Jenny-Team member at Herd Health Consultancy

Hello…

My name is Jenny and I am a Veterinary specialist in bovine health management at Herd Health Consultancy. I joined the HHC team in October 2020 and previously to HHC I studied at the RVC graduating in 2014.

After that I worked in mixed practice, moving on to farm animal practice in Wiltshire and Dorset, up until the summer of 2017. I then joined the RVC livestock extension services in Dorset to start  The European College of Bovine Health Management residency programme and finished my diploma in September 2020.

I am very much enjoying my time at HHC and anything I can help with, please get in touch.

Hi…

I’m James and I am a Foot Health Consultant working at Herd Health Consultancy. I joined the team in February 2022 having previously completed a PhD in the management of dairy cow lameness at the University of Nottingham, and more recently overseen research/teaching at Duchy College’s farm. Before that I worked in herd management following a BSc in Agriculture. I am keen to work with farmers to encourage the use of evidenced based practices on all fronts, and also love carrying out research to develop these strategies!

I work from my home base in Cornwall (but cover nationwide), where in my spare time I enjoy bodyboarding, a spot of shooting and looking after the garden. I will be happy to help with any lameness related matters however I can!

Hi…

I’m Jay, and I joined Herd Health Consultancy in Autumn 2024. I qualified as a vet back in 2013 from the Royal Veterinary College, before working as a first opinion farm practitioner in both Somerset and later in Cheshire, developing a particular interest in cattle lameness. I moved to The University of Liverpool to complete a PhD investigating lameness in beef cattle, followed by a spell lecturing at Liverpool allowing me to indulge my desire to share knowledge and deliver training. I then spent some time working abroad, before moving on to work as a production vet for a UK based genetics company, with responsibilities including biosecurity of the bull stud, infectious disease monitoring, bull health and performance and maintaining statutory requirements such as licensing and adherence to policy and auditing.

I have been fortunate to be able to speak at events both internationally and nationally and enjoy sharing knowledge with various stakeholders, from students to vets, farmers to industry stakeholders.

I am looking forward to working with the Herd Health Consultancy team, the farmers, the vets, and the wider industry to help drive health and welfare. I’m based just near the border of North Wales and Cheshire, where I’m pretty used to travelling over the UK and further afield to visit farms.’

Hi…

My name is Kate and I was delighted to join the friendly team at HHC in April 2024, as Business Administration Manager, on a part-time basis.

I have a background in languages and studied French at the University of Hull, but in recent years, have moved into finance roles and am now in the process of studying for my AAT exams. I will be working on invoicing, credit control, reconciling payments and keeping the accounts generally shipshape for the business.
Aside from work, I am huge animal lover, notably a crazy cat lady, which includes volunteering for Cats Protection at weekends. I love travel and visiting far away places. I am also a big fan of the England cricket team and try to attend matches for all forms of the game every summer.

I look forward to introducing myself and getting to know the HHC customer base over the coming months. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any billing-related queries.

Hello

I’m Helen and I am a business consultant specialising in the healthcare and veterinary sectors. I qualified as a vet from Edinburgh University and since then have a number of qualifications relating to business, marketing and team development.

My main role with Herd Health Consultancy is to support the business as it grows, find new and exciting opportunities to enhance services and ensure the vets and consultants can spend time on-farm rather than in-office!

I work from my home office in Oxford where I live with my family, 3 cats and 2 ponies. Most of my spare time is taken up with taxi driving my 2 daughters, pandering to the ever-increasing needs of our animals and the occasional pub quiz and DJ set!
